Barnsley's 1st local support group,
supporting people living with
HIV in our Borough

What's on offer at +me after a warm welcome?

Information & Support

+me has an extensive range of information, magazines and resources available free to service users, carers and their families.

Drop in Service and Telephone Services

Both informal drop-ins and formally arranged home visits are available, offering individual levels of support. The support is delivered by people living with or affected by HIV themselves who are trained to enable them to pass on their knowledge and experience in a respectful and professional way.

1-2-1 Support

+me is a user and volunteer led organisation that offers people living with HIV both short and long term personal support through a difficult time. By appointment clients can access our counselling and complementary therapies.

Regular Social Excursions

Social activities provide opportunities for people to meet up and socialise giving both service users, carers and their families a break. Our social activities regularly include trips to country parks, local art galleries, days out and trips to the seaside and zoo.

Being Responsible

Criminalisation of HIV has not gone away and is still is a major concern. We advise people to ensure that they protect themselves and those they are intimate with. In support of this we provide a range of resources and related information.

Community Services

We work with external service providers to provide training for volunteers, service users, carers and their families. A host of support includes advice and training on Information Technology, benefits, housing, money management and returning back into work or education.

At +me our motivation is to strive for quality and excellence. Our wide range of services for carers and service users aims to provide practical advice and support that will make living with HIV easier.
